Phoenix Yard, King’s Cross

Located within a conservation area in King’s Cross, Phoenix Yard involves the transformation of a cluster of historic commercial buildings, immediately adjoining a Grade II-listed terrace, into a new hotel. Appointed from concept design stage, Shorten has led the concept design development of the site, maximising floor space efficiency within an awkward site footprint. The practice has also supported the client in assembling and coordinating the specialist consultant team to ensure a commercially viable and technically robust design for delivery.
